Romance, Reads & Wine - Midnight Hunter & Dr. Frank Reisling

Happy Wine and Book Wednesday, everybody! I have a very special pairing for you today. Midnight Hunter by Dark Romance Author, Brianna Hale, and Dr. Konstantin Frank's Dry Reisling--mmm, perfection! Midnight Hunter is one of my favorite reads of 2019. I highly recommend it, especially, if you like historical- meets-dark romance novels. And Dr. Konstantin Frank's Reisling (while not a German wine and chosen purely on a whim by yours truly last weekend) is a lovely dry reisling. I don't drink reislings all that much anymore because I usually find them too sweet, but this one is light and crisp and goes well with all the sunny fall days we are having in my neck of the woods. So grab up a copy of Midnight Hunter, get into your favorite reading spot and settle in with full glass. Happy Wine Wednesday, everyone and happy reading!

He’s hunting me, and there’s nowhere to run.

East Berlin, 1963. I thought I understood the consequences of trying to flee to the West. Death. Imprisonment without trial. Instead I’m being hunted by the most dangerous man in the city, secret police officer Reinhardt Volker.

Now I’m his prize, no longer a traitorous factory girl but his elegant and pampered secretary. He wants to possess me, body, soul – and heart. I’ll do anything to get away from him, but first that means getting closer.

I want to feel only hatred for my captor but beneath his uniform I discover a man with a past as scarred as Berlin’s.

And if I don’t escape him soon it will be too late.

A full-length dark romance by Brianna Hale

From my review:

Brianna Hale's Midnight Hunter is a suspense filled love story between two unlikely people in a very treacherous time in world history. Set in East Berlin after WWII, this book throws a female fugitive who’s trying to escape to the west in the path of a feared Stasi officer. The danger and suspense of this story add to the steam between the pair and the love scenes are hot but I appreciated the book for the fact that it took on a period and subject matter that I haven’t seen very much in the world of romance novels, if at all. I look forward to reading more of this author’s books.
