Happy Teaser Tuesday! Here is a bit from Odile...
Picture

“No one will find you here, lovely swan.  This place has been warded by magic stronger than his, I assure you.”
Strange family, Azarus thought. First, the Count left his daughter for dead and now she feared him. She was delirious, but Azarus was a master of the subconscious. One of his talents was deciphering such mysteries. Sometimes, what the heart knows can’t be spoken. Its secrets have no translation. But before long, his little stolen sorceress would hide nothing from him. He would know everything about her, dissect every memory she had if it would help him in his quest.

Romance, Reads & Wine -Cline Chard and Buns!

Oh boy, Happy Day Before Thanksgiving everybody! I'm scurrying around, cooking, cleaning and tapping into my inner domestic goddessness today trying to get everything ready for the big feast tomorrow. I had nearly lamented that I wouldn't have time to get this post up for you in all the melee. But then I had a thought that filled me with worry for all of you faithful readers out there and I knew I had to get the word out.
What's the one part of any Thanksgiving meal that for those at the table makes the whole hedonistic eating experience complete? The icing on the cake, the piece de resistance...the BUNS! As the chef and engineer of culinary extravagance, this holiday season, I know that you're all far more concerned with the main course - the turkey. Then there's the stuffing, the yams, the green bean casserole...so much to think about that this one important piece could be overlooked, or worse, treated as an afterthought. Well, don't worry, I got your back with this post (literally ;). This week's pairing is here to ensure that you don't forget the "Buns" this Thanksgiving.
Author Alice Clayton's culinary romance promises hot, delicious fun and it revolves around a secret recipe for the Bryant Mountain House's "yummy, gooey, can't-get-enough-of Hot Cross  buns." I stalked Clayton's book line up and they all look incredible. My ereader is at the ready to make me a fan and my glass is waiting to be filled with Cline Chardonnay so that this holiday dinner and reading experience are complete. Be sure to find time to take a break and join me. Happy Wine Wednesday everyone, I wish you all a joyous Thanksgiving and, as always, happy reading!

The third in the hilarious yet sizzling hot Hudson Valley series from New York Time and USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton.

Clara Morgan is living the dream, if you can call rebranding hotels that are desperate for a new life and running any kind of marathon a dream. Which she does. But the career she loves and the endurance races that keep her adrenaline pumping have kept her too busy to put down any roots. Growing up in foster care, she’s never been able to establish traditions of her own, which may be why she’s fascinated by the rituals that generations-old family resorts are known for. She’s especially interested in the Bryant Mountain House, and not just for their secret recipe for the yummy, gooey, can’t-get-enough-of Hot Cross Buns….

Archie Bryant, the man with the Buns, is fifth generation and one-day-owner of the charming yet run-down Bryant Mountain House in Bailey Falls, New York. He’s determined to save his family’s legacy from the wrecking ball the old-fashioned way—by gritting his teeth and doing what needs to be done. There’s no way Archie will be influenced by the new hotel branding expert his father brought in to turn one hundred and fifty years of tradition on its head just to attract a faster, younger, slicker crowd. But when some of Clara’s ideas start bringing in new, paying customers, Archie can’t deny that she may have just given him a shot at keeping his resort open.

It’s sticky, it’s messy, it’s sweet, it’s Buns.

This week's pairing is brought to you by Chateau St. Michelle, Reisling and Author Adrianne Lee's Delectable from her Big Pie in the Sky Novels series. A friend recommended this series to me and I decided to put Book #1 of the four book series on the blog today because I promised you foodie romance and recipes this month. All of Ms. Lee's covers are mouth watering and there are recipes for the delicious pies featured to go with. Revolving around a pie shop in Montana, these romances promise lots of fun and decadently steamy romance. What more could Pick up a copy of Delectable for some sinfully yummy romance and pour yourself a glass of Chateau St. Michelle Reisling for the perfect dessert pairing.

(Just as a side note, Chateau Ste. Michelle Reisling has been one of my go to wines when I'm in the mood for something sweet and fizzy for a long time. Reisling, pie and romance = delish!)

Wishing everyone a very  happy Wine Wednesday and, of course, happy reading!

Montana real estate agent Quint McCoy will tell you that the most important thing is location, location, location. It's a lesson he learns all too well when he goes incommunicado for a four-week fishing trip to Alaska. While he's away, his mother Molly turns his office into the pie shop she has always dreamed of, Big Sky Pie. But that's not the only surprise in store for him.

On her way out of town, Callee McCoy only wants to say a fond farewell to her beloved mother-in-law. But Molly soon persuades Callee to stay and lend a hand at the new shop, even if it means heating up the kitchen with her soon-to-be ex. As Callee and Quint rediscover their recipe for love, they realize that some couples are so sinfully good together that one delectable taste is never enough . . .

Happy Wine Wednesday everyone! Since the holiday season is swiftly coming upon us, which means lots of get-togethers with friends and family, I thought that this month I would search out romance novels that involve, not just wine, but food. A lot of authors out there have written stories and series even where food plays a big part. Some have even created recipes or full cookbooks to compliment their books. This week's pairing involves just such a series of books. The Safeguarded Heart by Author Melanie A. Smith is a trilogy with an add-on cookbook. No wine / book pairing on my blog would be complete without a gorgeous bottle, of course, and so I've paired The Safeguarded Heart with Shannon Ridge Savignon Blanc.
The Safeguarded Heart Series follows self-made real estate mogul Serafina Evans through the world of business, office intrigues and love. She's a really strong female character, smart as a whip...oh, and she loves wine! Relax, get some new recipes for the holiday season, sip a glass of Shannon Ridge Savignon Blanc  and follow Serafina  in  The Safeguarded Heart.

Happy Reading everybody!

Will her gamble on a mercurial relationship pay off, or will it leave her hurt and closed off from love forever? And will she find out who’s sabotaging her in time to save the company she’s worked so hard to build?

As mentioned, The Safeguarded Heart Series is a trilogy with a cookbook add on. Find all of these great books on Amazon, Kobo, Barnes & Noble and Apple!

“I wondered when you would turn up again,” he said, his smile turning lusty and oh so inviting.
It was a crazy thing, she’d been looking at this face just a short time ago but instead of Xieran’s frightening intensity, the king’s expression was all play – all charm and sex. One thing that was the same though was the effect his touch had on her. His hand on her arm sent shockwaves all through her body.
She tried to pull back out of his grasp but he shook his head slowly at her. The movement caused one of those sweat dampened strands of hair to fall in close to his eye. It made him seem like some kind of feral beast. Her intake of breath at the sight hit the inside of her chest and her pulse picked up. Sexy. That was the only word her brain could come up with. The king was terrifyingly sexy.
Fighting to get her bearings, she straightened against his hold but his smile widened over his teeth even as he pulled her to him.
“Not this time me amma,” he said.
Then, suddenly, his hands grasped her waist and he threw her up over his shoulder. It happened so fast that she didn’t even have time to yelp.
With the world turned upside down, Kay’s full view was taken up with satiny golden skin stretched across the muscled expanse of Amphere’s lower back. Helpless, all she could do was stare at it. Finally, the indignity of being bottoms up over a man’s shoulder possessed her as her head bobbed along with the king’s heavy stride just above his incredible ass.
“Put me down!” She cried out, planting her palms firmly into the divots on either side of his spine just above the low riding leather belt that held up the man- skirt thing he was wearing. She pushed to bring her head up and her fingers sank into the prime flesh of his butt.
He stopped walking so abruptly that her hands slipped and she thumped against him. His muscles hardened under her hands. As frightening as it should have been to be immersed in a fantasy to the point of physical awareness, the feel of his body had her painfully aroused. She squirmed involuntarily against the wetness developing between her legs. Was that even possible in a dream?
Kay barely had time to ponder her body’s reactions though before Amphere’s hand slid up the back of her thigh under her skirt.
“Rude little slave girl,” he rumbled, his voice filled with humor and other things. “I remember promising to teach you manners the last time you were in my presence.”
His hand travelled further up the underside of her leg. Callused skin raked against her tender flesh. Warm and rough, the conflicting textures of his palm were decadent like salt on sweet. She wriggled again and he squeezed.
Gasping, Kay pushed up till her arms were straight and she was arched away from his back. Should any of this feel so real?
“S-stop,” she stuttered out in protest.
“Still, little one,” he commanded and she froze. “Placing hands on the King of Am, a Son of Poseidon,” she felt him shake his head then he tsked, “that’s a punishable offense.”
“That’s not fair,” Kay huffed out, flopping back down against him.
“No?” He asked but didn’t wait for any kind of an answer. “Well then, in all fairness…”
His hand travelled the rest of the way up to just underneath her bottom cheek, his long fingers wrapping around the very top of her thigh. They dipped inward, seeking. He probed beyond her slick entrance to find the over-sensitized nub just past it. His finger circled. He pressed.
Whoa! Now that was just too…
“Ahh.”
Kay whimpered, trying to pull away from his hand but the gravity of her position made it impossible. Her moving only served to push her mound into him more firmly which was what her body wanted anyway. A sense of propriety should keep from her from sliding into a full blown dream-gasm shouldn’t it? She tried to reason that out but then he rubbed again and her whimper turned into a moan. Perhaps not.
She was suddenly totally cool with surrendering all self awareness and giving herself up to the fantasy.
