Happy Wine Wednesday everyone! The past couple of weeks I've been rereading some favorite books of mine and was swept away, for the second time, by New York Times best selling author Laura Kinsale's incredible historical romance Shadowheart. By far one of my favorite writers, Kinsale's story telling always delivers mystery, intrigue, action, psychological drama and passion. This second book in the Medieval Hearts series is no different. Her books are the kind that every time you read them you find something new no matter how many times you revisit them. The hero in of Shadowheart, Allegretto, OMG, so darkly sexy and heart-breakingly damaged. The medieval assassin is the bad boy of a mystic, long ago era that only Monteverde's fiery Princess Elena can save. If you like romance with subplots, suspense and, I have to say, pretty kinky medieval sex scenes then pick up a copy of Shadowheart. Mer Soleil Vineyard's bottle of Silver Chardonnay is the perfect pairing for this beautiful tale, full of mystery and drama just like the book. As always happy Wine Wednesday and happy reading! www.MerSoleilVineyard.com www.laurakinsale.com www.amazon.com/dp/B00J84KTZU ![]() Swept up in political intrigue, an assassin and a princess embrace a passionate love in this fourteenth-century romance by a New York Times–bestselling author. As the last unmarried princess of Monteverde, Elayne is trapped in a marital bond when her hand is promised to the land’s ruler. On the voyage to meet her future husband, she is captured by Allegreto Navona—the living embodiment of the dark angel she’s seen in dreams. Endowed with godlike beauty, his eyes burn bright with sin. A woman of modesty would flee such a man. But try as she might, a wanton hunger binds her to his side . . . Trained as an assassin, Allegreto is the bastard son of an ambitious lord who raised him to murder for control of Monteverde. Now that his father is dead, if Allegreto can make Elayne his wife, it will cleanse his tainted blood, and the country will be his, but she is no mere maiden to be possessed. Unexpectedly, he falls in love with her, finding in her quick mind and azure eyes the conqueror of his heart. But will his dark past scare her off? With a legendary ability to create lovers you’ll never forget, the author of Flowers from the Storm offers a lively historical romance. Hello everyone, hope the month of August is treating you well and you're soaking up these final days of summer, enjoying romance, reads and wines along the way. I don't have a wine book pairing for you again this week. I'm hard at work in my mad-scientist, fantasy romance writing lab getting a great start on a new ballet fairy tale, Odile, Legend of the Black Swan. (More info to come on that soon so stay tuned!) Nonetheless, here is a really cute, flirty bottle for you that will pair well with any sexy read you have on hand.
Insatiable Chardonnay is a hot little number that is up for anything and looking to be taken home as it states in its own dating-profile-style back label. Adorable! It's the perfect mood setter for a rom com or contemporary romance or really anything on your TBR list. So fill up a glass, grab a book and be "Insatiable" about it. Happy Wine Wednesday everybody and happy reading! Immerse yourself in Fantasy romance...slip into the Tides of Atlantis!

Shane’s new Tides of Atlantis series and help them to discover their soul mates, the women who will win their lost hearts and help them fulfill their destiny! We're into the month of August now and this time of year always puts me in the mood for Americana. Probably due to all of the ranches and farms around where I live getting ready for harvest time and the beginning of county and state fair season. So this week's pairing is brought you by The Great American Wine Company and one of my absolute favorite 'blast from the past' books (one that love psychic Esme Le Couer from Crystal Tide would, undoubtedly, call "a classic".) That book is Yankee Wife by #1 New York Times and USA Today best selling romance author Linda Lael Miller. Miller's books are where I turn to when I am in the mood for Western romance. I love all of this author's historicals but Yankee Wife is one of my absolute favorites. I had to really dig to get this original cover pic because I wanted the layout to keep to an authentic Americana look, plus, it's just damn swoon worthy, as is the hero, Brigham Quade, owner of a lumber empire in a northern post civil war harbor town. If you haven't read Yankee Wife, pick up a copy and pour yourself a glass of The Great American Wine Company's delish chardonnay by Rosenblum Cellars for a late summer, read / wine pairing delight! *The cover for Yankee Wife has been modernized so I posted the newer version along with the blurb that you will find if you are looking on Amazon. As always, happy Wine Wednesday and happy reading! ![]() When a pretty spitfire who's down on her luck clashes with a stubborn man in search of a wife, sparks must turn to flames.... A year after the Civil War, courageous former Union nurse Lydia McQuire was gamely scraping out an honest living. But now, as she said yes to marrying a stranger, her knees gave way with fear. Mr. Devon Quade had seemed polite and handsome when she answered his ad for a wife. Only after Lydia had arrived in Washington territory did she learn that her bridegroom wasn't to be sweet Devon Quade, but his older brother Brigham, a widower with strapping shoulders, hands as strong as steel, and an arrogant belief that he was lord and master of his lumber empire, the town of Quade's Harbor, and the woman he married. Lydia's dislike of him was instantaneous...yet Brigham was awakening in her a white-hot passion, and a firm resolve: before she would share his bed, he would have to surrender himself, heart and soul, to love.... |
