A sweet girl, a sexy bad boy and an unforgettable cast of characters. I’m in love with this sexy, suspenseful, small town romance. All the characters are great. I want my own Miles. He’s so supportive and protective of Claire and I loved his sense of humor. When you discover an author that can make you fall in love with their supporting characters, you know you’ve found a gem! But on to Claire and Boh, their romance is both sweet and intense. This second Angelbay book takes the reader on even more of an emotional roller coaster ride with lots of twists and turns and many more secrets revealed. Claire rocks Boh’s tough guy world and I enjoyed watching her come into her own. Boh’s side of things is equally intense as he deals with his troubled past. It’s a rocky road for both of them but that makes the HEA all the sweeter. Faber’s written a page turner for sure that left me wanting more, especially with the teaser at the end for McKenzie and War’s story in the next book of the series which promises to be smoking hot. Can’t wait!

I knew I could get caught one day and wind up behind bars for the rest of my life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I didn’t care. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And then the packages started to show up on my doorstep. One after another. Never the same gift twice. Never the same day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I warned my team, tried to get them to prepare for a takedown. They didn't seem as concerned as I was to learn my identity as Specter had been compromised. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I prepared for everything. And then Sage Maddison appeared with one of the packages, snow-white hair and eyes filled with fear. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was not prepared for her. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GC481JN From my review:
What a book! Dailey’s writing hooked me right from the beginning and it didn’t let go until the very end. With all the intrigue and emotion and character growth that happened, the twist at the end took me completely by surprise. The underworld hacker theme was really interesting, kind of comic book era meets modern day tech, while the drama was heartrending and what kept me turning pages. Happy Wine and Book Wednesday, everyone! This week's pairing is brought to you by Author K.M. Keeton's erotic romance, His and Black Diamond Chardonnay. Both are smooth and seductive with a hint of the unexpected. If you're looking for an intriguing erotic romance with bdsm themes and the perfect glass to go along with it, then give His and Black Diamond a try. After many months she finally lost herself in his world, discovering the woman she was always meant to be. Donaven from the beginning knew the outcome of the end, yet there was no stopping him from his Lana, his Wildling. Not a HEA, but you can keep the H for Hope… http://www.amazon.com/dp/B079F2QFJN From my review:
... captured my interest right from the start and I finished it in one sitting. The author’s delivery was perfect, very sophisticated and emotional, never relying on shock value to get the point across which I appreciated. His is a story of one woman’s journey to self-rediscovery. It’s full of steamy sensual scenes and intriguing characters. I loved how Donaven helped Lana to see her worth and regain the confidence she had lost over the years due to a variety of circumstances. He was a dom to die for and the twist at the end was great. I can’t wait to read more in the Kaleidoscope of Desire series. Happy Wine Wednesday, everyone! Another great angsty book by Trisha Harley McCarthy, author of the acclaimed Granite Bay Series. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B081XDPTH6 From my review:
I have to admit, I usually shy away from celebrity romances because I always figure I won’t be able to relate to the characters, but the author did a terrific job of humanizing this power couple. On Ice pulls back the veil from what one might consider a very glamorous lifestyle and sheds light on the hardest parts of celebrity ie. dealing with the media, paparazzi and the darker sides of the sports/entertainment business, not to mention she brings several mental health issues to the forefront. Killian “Ki the Sly” Connery is a star hockey player and team captain for the Otters and Zoe is the daughter of the team’s general manager. Their relationship takes so many twists and turns that I was on the edge of my seat reading the whole time. This book is filled with colorful characters, intrigue and… well, a whole league’s worth of stone cut abs. I can’t wait to read more about Harley McCarthy’s hot hockey guys. Go Team! |
